It can take a lot of effort to muster up the courage required to approach someone you like the look of on the other side of the room. We risk getting knocked down or, in the worst case, publicly humiliated. Thankfully, we happen to have technology on our side! In the modern age of dating, we have an array of apps catered to help us out in these unfortunate situations to try and make all our lives that bit easier. Who knows, maybe we'll even find our soulmate...
Dating apps: Tinder
Tinder is a favourite for girls because it's like plucking flowers but with photos, "I like him, I don't like him, I like him, I don't like him", of guys (and vice verse) that are nearby. When two people finally agree, it becomes a "Tinder Match". They can start a conversation a without knowing each other and see if there is any mutual attraction.
One tip, do not use a photo on your profile with sunglasses (they think you're ugly) or with friends (they think you're ugly).
Dating apps: Happn
We love the idea of this app. Simply contact that person who you're in love with, right across the street. You can even see the number of times your paths have crossed! Simply dare and send them a message.
Dating apps: Meetic
If you're looking for a serious relationship, this is your app. Choose your ideal partner (age, profession, hobbies, etc...) and Meetic shows you all your possible options. But be honest! Meetic has launched the campaign, #LoveYourImperfections, with the idea that it is our little imperfections that make us genuine and charming (just remember, there's no need to confess that you like licking feet).
Dating apps: Grindr
Grindr was made specifically for gay and bisexual men. It's similar to Tinder in that you "like" guys who are close by. In this sense, you'll have no doubt as to whether they're straight or not.
As you may have seen, there are apps to bring everyone together. We have found some others which are pretty entertaining: Cuddli, designed for geeks; We Met on a Plane, for finding that person you liked two rows down; or Tindog, to help your little buddy find love too!
What did you think? Do you use these apps? Are they useful? Share your experience in the comments!
