So, the iPhone 7 series is just about to be released, but are you still waiting on a different phone to come out before you upgrade? Or would you rather try and avoid the large price tag of Apple's latest phones? Well, you're in luck because today we are going to look at some of the best upcoming smartphones.
1. Google Pixel (Updated Nexus) - October 2016
Although the rumours haven't been confirmed, it has been strongly suggested that the Nexus series is going to be updated to the Pixel series. Although everything is tight lipped over at Google, there is an event on October 4th where they are likely to announce their new flagship phones. It will probably to come in two sizes, the Pixel (5 inch screen) and Pixel XL (5.5 inch screen) and will be manufactured by Huawei or HTC. It is highly likely it will run Android 7 Nougat straight out the box and will have a 12MP rear camera with 4K recording. Only time will tell with the exact outcome of this one!
2. Nokia C1 - Q4 2016
Nokia has recently announced that it's getting back into the phone making game and that its phones will now run on Android. So, what can we expect from this return? Meet the new Nokia C1. Although not confirmed yet, it is expected that the flagship model will feature a 5.5 inch OLED display, a 22.6 MP rear camera, have a metal body, run Android 7.0 Nougat, as well as being water and dust resistant. I'm definitely looking forward to this one as Nokia was a brand I grew up with. Will it be enough to make them a major player again?
3. Samsung Galaxy X - 2017
Do you remember the days of the flip phone? Some people still use them but they are hardly bursting with the latest and greatest specs. Although not officially announced yet, the Samsung Galaxy X has the potential to be a game changer. Samsung has been very hush hush about it, but it did apply for various patents showing a screen that can bend. It is thought that their new X series will launch alongside the likes of the S8 and S8 Edge, next year. We will have to wait and see what the final product looks like, but this is has definitely got me excited.
4. Microsoft Surface - Autumn 2017
It looks like Microsoft is going to kill off its current Lumia series, in favour of a new line of Surface phones. It has been rumoured that the new flagship phone will feature a 5.2 inch AMOLED 2K display, a 21MP rear camera and 8MP front facing camera, and a potential 8GB of internal ram. Although nothing has been confirmed, it has been thought that Microsoft has been planning this move for a while now, so only time will tell with this one.
