WhatsApp is the currently the most popular messenger in the world. It almost single-handedly eliminated the need for text messages. That’s because with WhatsApp, users can not only send regular text messages, but can also make calls, send voice messages, videos, documents and can create large group chats! WhatsApp can do so much more than regular SMS/MMS ever could! In order to get the most out of your WhatsApp, we’ll cover the 6 best WhatsApp tips that you may not be aware of!
For a long time, one of the disadvantages of WhatsApp opposed to Facebook was that it was only accessible on a smartphone. With WhatsApp Web, that changed. You can continue chatting with your friends and family comfortably from your Google Chrome PC! Everything that you have to do can be done directly form your PC. To start off, all you have to do is go on your smartphone, choose the setting “WhatsApp Web” and you can scan the QR-Code that is shown on your Google Chrome browser. Once the code is scanned, you will be automatically connected with your browser!
With the new WhatsApp desktop app, you’re not limited to just using Google Chrome, but can use WhatsApp on whatever computer you want!
Everyone has that one stalking friend: they constantly check when you were last online and see if you’ve read their messages or not. Thankfully, you can turn off this “Last Seen” feature easily. Simply go to Settings -> Account -> Privacy and select the option that nobody can see when you were last online. However, you must consider that you will no longer be able to see when your friends were last online either. If you are online or are currently writing a message, your status will no longer be hid.
On WhatsApp, the double blue checkmarks indicate that your message has been read. In case you don’t want that, you can easily turn that it off by going into Settings -> Account -> Privacy. However for group chats, you cannot turn off this feature.
Do you want to meet up with your friends? You can do that quickest when you send your location using WhatsApp. Turn on your GPS, open a chat, click on the 3 dots on the top right corner and click on “Location”. You can also send a fake location, if you want! “Of course I’m at school, mom!”.
You have the possibility to make your text bold (*bold*), italic (_italic_) or crossed out (~crossed out~), by adding the previously shown special characters.
Groups are annoying. If you want to send a message to multiple friends, then simply select “New Broadcast” and you won’t have to deal with overfilled groups!
