Samsung, one of the most popular technology brands in the world, brought two new flagship phones to the market with the Samsung Galaxy S7 as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
In the first few weeks after their release, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have been turning heads. The first sales figures for both models have been astonishing and are expected to exceed the already amazing sales figures of their predecessors by around 250 percent. Samsung did nothing more than recognize potential for improvement and capitalizing on it, thus creating one of the most stunning and amazing phones they have ever released. Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge bribe trump their predecessors through many small but nice improvements.
As usual with Samsung, the design is kept very simple. It consists of a smooth, clean look and timeless elegance. Using a 3D-thermoforming process, there is a seamless transition between the glass front to the metal alloy on the back. The models fit well in one’s hand and have a high degree of usability.
The camera that Samsung has installed into their signature phones have been upgraded. A bright F1.7 aperture and the large 1.4μm pixels on the image sensor capture as much light even in unfavorable light conditions, so high quality photographs can easily be taken. Furthermore, a dual pixel sensor and autofocus ensure that even the fastest movements can be photographed and captured accurately. Newly implemented features, such as Motion Panorama and Motion Picture Recording enable the user to capture unique moments in panoramic view or to capture three seconds worth of frames before releasing the shutter. Users can then choose which moment is best and choose it as a still image.
Other notable progress is noted with respect to the developed hardware. In particular, the components of speed and performance were improved again with the combination of a new custom CPU, a high-performance GPU and 4 GB of RAM. Thanks to reintegrated micro-SD support, it is also possible to adjust storage capacity as needed. An integrated quick charge function allows for rapid charging of the device, which is particularly useful for large batteries. By sealing the inner components of the smartphones, they are well protected from water and dust.
The list of improvements that Samsung implemented into their new phone cases of course goes on. In summary, however, it can be said that Samsung has done its homework and has set another milestone in the mobile phone industry with its new high-end models.
