Just recently, on February 25th, Samsung unveiled the brand new Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ to the public. Before, the South-Korean technology giant announced them to be direct competitors for the iPhone X. So lets have a closer look: in fact, there are many similarities but also several differences. Read on if you want to find out more.
As mentioned before, both smartphones have some common features.
The design, for example, is highly similar: with 5.8 inches the screen size is the same but the Samsung S9 has a higher resolution than the iPhone X. Even though the Samsung Galaxy S9 is a bit bigger, the iPhone X is still a bit heavier.
The new Samsung model is highly functional, especially due to the 3.5 mm headphone jack which the iPhone X doesn't have. Therefore, many cables are not compatible with this new iPhone model. Additionally, the Galaxy S9 has a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone just underneath the camera, which is a more convenient location compared to previous models.
Regarding the storage capacity, the same versions are available for both models: you can choose between a 64 GB, a 128 GB and also a 256 GB version. In case that's still not enough for you, you can upgrade the storage of the Samsung S9 to up to 400 GB, which definitely is a huge advantage compared to the iPhone X.
Both models can be charged wireless. But with 3000 mAh the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S9 is slightly better than the iPhone's with 2716 mAh.
Both cameras have a slow-motion mode but Samsung added a super slow-mo feature with 960 pictures per second compared to 240 pictures per second for the Apple model.
On the other hand, the dual camera of the iPhone X was a significant step for Apple which will surely be copied by many other manufacturers in the future.
Finally lets talk money: with a storage capacity of 64 GB the iPhone X costs $999 while the Galaxy S9 is available for only $719.99 and the S9 Plus for $839.99.
Now it's up to you to decide which model you prefer to buy next. No matter how you decide though, GoCustomized has the best cases for both of them!
