If you have a Nexus brand phone or tablet, you're probably lucky enough to have tried out Google's latest mobile operating software, Android 7.0 Nougat. For the rest of us, however, we can expect to see it roll in the very near future. But is it worth the wait? Let's have a look and see if it's worth the hype.
Google Android Nougat: Notifications
If you haven't checked your phone in a while, it can be painful sifting through the endless list of notifications in your drop down bar. To make things easier, Nougat can now group together multiple notifications from a single application. This allows you to open multiple notifications from one app, rather than seeing them all at the same time.
Google Android Nougat: Multi-windows
Google Android Nougat allows users to place multiple apps together in separate windows. This is great when using a tablet, but can be rather fiddly when using on a phone with a smaller screen. You can also quick-switch between apps for a more efficient experience.
Google Android Nougat: Instant Apps
A great new feature is the ability to test apps without even buying them! Simply go straight into the Google Play store and try out an app.
Google Android Nougat: Battery Life
Are you tired of your smartphone draining too quickly? Google Android Nougat addresses this issue by upgrading it's previous Doze system. This will allow for that extra precious battery life when you're on the move, playing games, or ordering a personalised phone case.
Google Android Nougat: Conclusion
To sum up, the new operating system from Google isn't about recreating the entire design. It's building upon Android 6.0 Marshmallow to create a smoother user experience. Don't expect to see huge differences but do expect a more integrated user experience. The features I've mentioned above are just a handful of the many updates and I'm sure we will see Android Nougat running even more smoothly in no time. I look forward to the update and will be downloading it when it's available.
