Samsung announces Bixby 2.0, the new voice assistant

A few weeks ago, Samsung announced it will introduce the second generation of its Bixby voice assistant during the Samsung Developer Conference 2017 held in San Francisco. Samsung is not going to stay behind its major rivals, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so it has brought some new features to the previous version of Bixby. Curious? Continue reading to know more.

The main novelty is that Bixby will be compatible with a variety of devices, just as it is for Alexa and Google Assistant. The first version of Bixby, in fact, is exclusive to the latest Samsung Galaxy S and Notes only. Samsung has said that the new Bixby will overcome this gap, thanks to its ability to adapt to situations, by elaborating the natural voice and anticipating the needs of the user, no matter what device is in use. In this regard, Samsung announced that Bixby 2.0 will also be able to interact with cell phones, loudspeakers, refrigerators, televisions, and many other devices connected to the internet.

The most important aspects of the new Bixby are essentially the following two: First of all, the software will be able to recognize the commands of different people, in order to offer a truly personalised user experience. Second, Bixby 2.0 will be open to developers to create and link existing applications and services, thanks to the Bixby SDK, which will allow anyone to create Bixby-compatible apps and services.

Obviously, the ability to use Bixby to control all these devices will increase the use of your smartphone. This, however, is a major risk, as greater use also increases the likelihood that your cell phone will fall from your hands or be subjected to bumps. That's why, we at GoCustomized want to offer you a solution that suits your needs. With us, you can order a cover for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in order to protect them to the maximum and still continue to use them at full capacity!
